Aprons – In The Making

Well made, durable, craft and work aprons for makers.

Each apron is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and finish. I wash my fabrics, to pre-shrink and and remove excess dye, before laying out patterns and cutting. Turnings are measured, pressed and stitched, thick turnings hammered, and all the thread ends hand sewn in.

I wear an apron every day, protecting my clothes from threads, fluffs, ink, watercolour paint, glue, and food preparation – Watching other people’s skill and craft sparks new ideas and specialist features for my apron designs. Inspiration also comes from fabric finds, vintage work-wear and old photographs of working people.
